In Japan there are five types of people there is your Emperor which makes up the top layer of society. The emperor was worshippied by the people but held little political power.
Next there was the shogun,the shogun was the most powerful warload. He commanded military and economic power and effectively ruled the country,controlling taxes. He remained shogun only as long as he could unite a majority of daimyo.
The daimyo was a loyal samurai. The daimyo were warrior lords who controlled areas of land and ruled and the number of the samurai he led.
These samurai were warriors who total allegaince to their land and lord and maintained his authority. Being a samurai was not easy it would take years of training it would start as a kid.
Peasants were almost the lowest class in feudal Japan. They were just above the lowest social class in feudal Japan who did the jobs no-one else would take on. Peasants were not to seen to value as they did not create,produce or protect anything. However, in time they become very wealthy by trading produce and goods with farmers and craftsmen. They also sold the goods and lent the finance by many in Japan as a result of the constant civil wars.
